Cellist Susan Debronsky is an active freelance musician in the Sarasota area. In addition to being the principal cellist of The Venice Symphony, she is a regular substitute with The Florida Orchestra and Sarasota Orchestra. During Florida’s hot summers, Susan heads north to perform opera with The Glimmerglass Festival, in Cooperstown, NY.
Susan was born and raised in Yonkers, NY, where she studied with the same teacher, Lillian Rehberg Goodman, for ten years, until she left for Bloomington, Indiana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from the Indiana University School of Music. After relocating to Albany, NY, Susan joined the Albany Symphony, where she held the position of Principal Cello for over 40 years, and was its Orchestra Personnel Manager for 17 years.
Susan and her husband, Brian, moved to Florida in 2022, where they enjoy the abundance of arts, restaurants and beaches.
