Where Are My Keys? Chorale

Where are my keys? Chorale

This choir provides positive and joyful experiences for those living with memory loss or dementia and their care partners. WAMK Chorale is a partnership between Key Chorale, JFCS of the Suncoast and Senior Friendship Center’s Adult Day Program.

Two eight-week sessions are planned for each year, led by Maestro Caulkins with the assistance of Key Chorale volunteer singers. These groups explores the potential of people living with dementia or memory loss to experience renewed purpose, learning, and friendships. The sessions are uplifting, fulfilling, and fun and are an important part of their care.

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Key Chorale and Maestro Joseph Caulkins to bring the power of music into our program! Music therapy is known to have countless benefits for individuals suffering from neurocognitive diseases. “Key Chorale has provided a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of persons with memory loss and their caregivers with the creation of the Where Are My Keys? Chorale. Under the expert guidance of Key Chorale’s Maestro Joseph Caulkins, the group meets weekly to enjoy an hour of singing favorite and familiar tunes. The 30 + participants raise their voices with smiles and energy. There is a feeling of real accomplishment at the end of every session; the power of this music connection is a gift to all.”
