
Tenor David Tayloe, a North Carolina native, has been praised for his “lovely tenor that sings with Mozartean finesse.” He has performed with companies including Santa Fe Opera, Alabama Symphony, Charleston Symphony, Opera Birmingham, and the Snape Proms under Philippe Herreweghe.
Operatic highlights include roles in Rigoletto, Roméo et Juliette, Albert Herring, Gianni Schicchi, and Candide. A dedicated concert and recital artist, Tayloe has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the National Opera Center, and on national tours of Winterreise. He is a past winner of The American Prize and a frequent collaborator with living composers including Libby Larsen and Ben Moore. His ensemble credits include performances with Seraphic Fire, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and the Taylor Festival Choir. He appears on the PARMA/NAVONA release Pathways to Healing. Tayloe holds degrees from Eastman, LSU, and the University of Miami, and serves as Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Alabama.
