Key Chorale launched their new Come Together Choir Online Choral Rehearsals in March. Since then, hundreds of singers from all over the country have participated. The 6 episodes have had more than 4,000 views to date. If you are just learning about this, you can still register and participate.
If you are a singer, you know how important it is for singers to come together, to connect, to communicate and to make music. It is part of our DNA. It’s who we are. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, singing in choirs has been a great challenge. The need to come together, to make music, has never been more important. Music and singing are a way we express ourselves, our feelings, our joy, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Learn 10 songs from unison to four-parts, as well as warm-ups and vocal exercises, that will improve your breath control and singing. These episodes are shot from the perspective of the choir, focused on Artistic Director Joseph Caulkins, as he guides 8 singers and YOU through a fun rehearsal. Each episode builds on the previous one, giving you a sense of accomplishment and of being right there. Although this is not an interactive experience, the project is conceived to give the feel of being right there as a singer in the choir. So turn up the volume and sing your heart out with the Come Together Choir!
“I want to thank you so very much! Mr. Caulkins does such a good job and I am learning so much about warming up my Alto voice. The breathing exercises have been helping me in more ways than just singing. I am one of those people that is just too shy to audition but I have bought tickets to every one of the Chorale concerts I can possibly get to and have been in several church choirs in the past. I want to thank Mr. Caulkins from the bottom of my heart as I have gone back and re-watched these episodes and will continue to sing with them.” – Barbara Austin
