Temple Emanu-El Hosts Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 15, 2017 With the Key Chorale and Rev. Charles McKenzie
Sarasota, FL (December 28th, 2016) – On Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2 pm, Temple Emanu-El will celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. featuring the Key Chorale and the Rev. Charles McKenzie. Co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee, Rev. McKenzie will bring the inspiring words of Dr. King to life. According to Joseph Caulkins, Artistic Director of the Key Chorale, “We are privileged to bring our voices to commemorate the memory of Dr. King at this Tribute. Dr. King’s message resounds in the inspirational music and songs of his era.” This is the third year that Temple Emanu-El has sponsored this community event that is open to the public.
The Tribute will benefit the Visible Men Academy of Bradenton, an all-boys public charter school (K-8). The mission of Visible Men Academy (VMA) is to provide boys with outstanding academic, character, and social education in a nurturing school environment.
The Key Chorale, Sarasota’s Symphonic Chorus, is dedicated to enriching our cultural environment by making extraordinary choral music accessible and open to all through varied performances, educational and geographical outreach.
Tickets to the Tribute are $15 per person. Light refreshments will follow the program.
